Stuart Robinson - Access Auditor
As an access auditor registered on the National Register of Access Consultants, Stuart has been working closely with David Bonnett Associates as an associate for over 3 years. He has been involved in over 200 access projects, including audits of existing buildings/external environments, appraisals of new-build or refurbishment proposals, ongoing consultancy as part of the design team, the provision of fee quotes, attending client meetings and developing strategies for access consultancy to suit clients' needs.
He provides advice on a broad range of issues from clarifying complex aspects of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (DDA) to providing detailed design advice on specific layouts including entrances, WCs, signage, reception desks, offices, galleries, Shopmobility, emergency evacuation and other key facilities used by disabled people.
He is also involved in the continuing development of new methods of access auditing and report production.
Most of his auditing work relates to and is motivated by the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, Part M of the Building Regulations, BS8300 and industry-specific access standards. However he has also responded to other requirements, for example funding bodies such as the Arts Council of England and Heritage Lottery funded projects.
